Update on my rio grande 45-70. Went to the range and had no problems with feeding or any other functional issue but I discovered I was shooting extremely high. At 20 yds it was around 4" high but at 50 and 100 yds not even on paper. I must need the taller front sight im guessing. Will rossi send this to me or should I just go aftermarket?

I suspect Rossi only has one sight height available.

That's a good question. I guess I'll call buds tomorrow and find out.

Have any of you guys tried the scope for the 45-70 that is made specifically for use with the leverevolution ammo? It looks promising. Cabelas sells them. That might be the way I go because I like a scoped rifle anyway.

I had one of their scopes for my old Marlin 30-30 and it didn't last two weeks. It would not hold zero after 50 rounds and the glass wasn't clear at all. IMHO, Do yourself a favor and spend the money on a decent scope like A Leupold. Can't beat the lifetime warranty.

Look up Skinner Sights and give them a call. I bet they can fix you up.
