RG 410 Extractor update
Got the Marlin 30-30 extractor from Numrich in the mail today and went directly to install it. It is a perfect replacement!!!!! It really grabs the shells and the action is still smooth as butter....so any 410 guys this part is a direct install. No tweaking required!!!!! It is beefier also. OUTSTANDING!!!! The 410 is back online!

Re: RG 410 Extractor update
Whew!! I glad it worked since I was the one that suggested you get it from them. I got worried when you said you had ordered it from them. Was afraid it might not fit.
Seems like a lot of the parts interchange. I wish they had the same screw thread pitch too.

Re: RG 410 Extractor update
Thanks Don for sending me the link to Numrich! None of us knew if that 30-30 extractor would work. It does have a different tip than the 410 extractor which concerned me on initial visual inspection of the part. I installed it and took a 410 shell and tested it on the bolt and it really held the shell. Installed the bolt with no binding or interference. Loaded her up with one in the pipe and 5 in the mag and cycled all with no problem.
This Extractor really holds on to the shell so the ejector really can hammer them out too. My Rossi extractor would start to let go about 3/4 of the way so the ejector would only get a piece of the shell and kinda spit it out of the chamber. And this was from brand new. Now the stock ejector is throwing the shell about 3-4 feet!!!!
It was a very well spent 11 bucks!!!!!

Re: RG 410 Extractor update
I also use Numrich as a reference source when I don't know what to call a certain part. I'll look it up on one of there schematic drawings so my termanology is correct.
I Wish they had Rossi parts. I know it's not their fault though, It's Rossi's, because of their policy of not selling parts.
Is the tip on the Marlin part a bent piece of sheet metal like the Rossi part?

Re: RG 410 Extractor update
The Marlin extractor looks identical but the end is actually crimped about 3/4 of the way and has the rest of it open like a sharp point actually....shoot let me pull the bolt and I will take a pic. It is much thicker too. Completely different from the Rossi extractor which is not crimped at all and feels like a much cheaper piece of pot metal. I thought the way the Marlin extended it might cause a binding problem the way it sticks out....but it fits and cycles like a champ.

Ah yes, I see. The Marlin part looks a lot more "serious" to me. I'll bet it does not break too soon either.

Re: RG 410 Extractor update
It is stout for sure. Couldn't be happier with that part. Now if it will only warm up so I can go back out and do some more shooting....it is 9 below zero. No Bueno!
