Magazine plug removal

Post by Steineeo »

I have tried to remove the top of the magazine but it wil not unscrew. I removed the small screw on the side of the magazine but still the top will not screw off. Stupid question I know......but I am new to the wonderful world of guns.
Thanks

The small screw holds the plug in. The plug itself has a slot on the front, but it is not threaded - it just slides in and out.

Grasp it with your fingers, wiggle it a bit and pull it out.

Thank you for answering my question. The slot was deceiving and got me good!

I will add that the slot on the tube plug allows you to use a screwdriver to align the plug holes to to the holes in the tube so the screw can be inserted. I've wondered many years why Marlin never did this.
