Have you got a rifle scabbard mounted?
A ranch hand would fit real nice in there.
As much as I like leather, I haven't bought leather for my ML yet.
What I do have is a Molle Breaching Shotgun Scabbard.

I'm hoping it won't be as abrasive on the finish as leather?

That will work.
Looks like it holds spare ammo also.
And can throw it across the back and shoulder if need be.

Thank you CavScout.
When I worked the wood on the rossi 44, I took 0000 steel wool and just rubbed it down to bare wood.
Then added coats of tru oil,
Then I finished it off by burnishing it with a piece of an old wool blanket, rubbing it back till I got the sheen I wanted.
Next time you're around a Marine store, look for some Bronze Wool. It won't leave those irritating steel whiskers in the wood pores.

An added benefit is Bronze Wool with Kroil is great for removing light surface rust... WITHOUT harming a blued finish. Flitz is also handy to keep around for cleaning a blued finish!
bronze wool, I will get some.
Ive got a tube of flitz with the cloth.
It does a pretty good job.

The ammo loops on the spine are for 12ga. shells, but there are ample Molle straps to attach cartridge carriers.

I use a variety of brass scrapers when restoring Vintage Firearms.
Brass does not harm steel, or any remaining blueing or color finish.
Any brass gilding left behind easily cleans up with a Nylon Toothbrush and light oil.
I like Kano Labs Microil

Here's an idea for Rossi to resurrect the Ranch Hand.

A Take-Down Ranch Hand!

It's not a new concept... Chiappa already makes a Take-Down Mare's Leg.
But if Rossi could market a RH TD for half the price, I think it could work!

Chore Boy scrubbers in the variant made of copper wire instead of steel soaked in ATF/acetone is the best remover of rust from bluing I've found.

That take down ranch hand is very nice.
And then do a SBR with it.
Maybe 44 mag for the caliber.
I would hike through jurassic park, well maybe.

I wasn't aware of those, living up here in the backwoods of Central Oregon!

They would definitely be a good addition to my Elbow Grease Rust Removal Kit! ;)

I enjoy Bronze Wool because I can get it in various grades like Steel Wool.
That doesn't matter for rust removal, but I also use it for refinishing Stocks.

If I get and old gun with scratched-up wood finish... I strip the hard shell coating, iron out any dents, smooth down to original contours... and apply many coats of a hand rubbed oil finish.

If I want to replicate that old Military oil finish, I rub in Old English Scratch Cover For Dark Woods before the coats of Linseed Oil.

Linseed Oil is not only an original finish oil, but it is non-flammable... so it can be heated with an open flame for extra penetration... without resorting to solvents.
A single burner Camp Stove works good for even heat

Flame test the oil on a Q-Tip to assure no solvents have been added for drying! :o

I looked up Chore Boy scrubbers on Amazon.
According to reviews... much like cookies, the product size has been reduced.
One reviewer claimed two pads were needed to accomplish work, and wore out quickly?

There was an alternate Brass Pad product at the same cost per pad, with better reviews... so I ordered a pack:

Thanks again for the suggestion!
