Ranch Hand "butt stock"???

Post by Maximumbob54 »

I have to break down and ask. I'm seeing a lot of guys that are doing whatever they can think of to add to the length of the grip to make it easier to shoulder. I don't have a clue where the law begins or ends but I'm not sure you should be able to shoulder this gun and it not be labeled as an SBR. And yet I see the Sig arm strap device for their AR and I don't know how you couldn't shoulder that with complete ease. But the ATF signed off on that one. I'm cunfuzzled. :?:

Its called the grey area. Like the bump fire devices that are out there as well. It is all perspective view how you see it. The law can charge you with anything if given reason to do so. I say dont give any reason.

It is all in how it was "certified". When I talked to the ATF about it, there is a post on the forum, they said recoil pads were not an issue as long you did not change out the stock for something with a longer butt.

this is just another example on the right to tax is the right to confuse and destroy.

The excise tax on a handgun isn't the same as that on a long gun.
THUS you must have a definition of which is which and you cannot turn one into the other without violation of the tax laws...

Add another couple dozen years of rule making and things get really confused.
