Looking at taking a plung, have a few questions...

Post by Winny94 »

I'm considering buying a ranch hand, either a 357 or 45 Colt. I have a few questions: is the cross bolt safety removable? Are there any receiver mounted rear sights? If not, how is the mid barrel Skinner sight? Are there smaller levers available? How about taller front sights (I hear most hit high)? What do people use for a sling set-up?

Thanks for any insight.

Marlins and rio grande's have a crossbolt safety I thought it was called. But the bolt safety mech can be removed and you can replace with a plug steve sells he even has a plug with a peep sight in it or did at least others will have to chime in with better info and welcome to the board.

Look up the Steve's Gunz website and his webstore has most of the parts you are asking about. I believe it's Skinner that sells the taller front sight. I'm not sure on the leather but if you scroll through the Ranch Hand pic thread you will see some nice stuff.
